Greenville, SC (December), – Artisphere announced two new additions to the organization’s full time staff. The non-profit appointed Elise Luthi to the position of Logistics Coordinator and Megan Hall as the Communications and Administrative Coordinator. In its 13th year, Artisphere has now doubled its staff from two to four people for the 2017 festival.

The staff expansion reflects the festival’s growth since its inaugural event in 2005. In the last five years, the festival has expanded the site North to Court Street and South across Augusta, roughly a 33% expansion. Festival hours were extended in order to allow ample time for artists and patrons alike to enjoy all that the festival weekend includes. Programming has doubled with additions like Artist Demo Row, the Art Lab, Clemson’s STEAM Exhibit, the Greenville County High School Juried Exhibit, the After-Hours Concert Series, and the Wine and Craft Beer Experience- to name just a few. In 2016, a fourth performing arts stage was added and the number of accepted artists increased from 120 to 135. Additionally, Artisphere is preparing for the future by embarking on a strategic long-range plan that includes setting goals for longevity and exploring ways to stay fresh and relevant while maintaining the organization’s core objectives.
Luthi, originally from Greenville, has lived and worked in Washington, D.C. since graduating from Leeds Beckett University in the United Kingdom with a Masters in Arts in Cultural Tourism and receiving an undergraduate degree from Clemson University in Parks and Recreation and Tourism Management. For the past four years, Luthi held the title of Special Events Coordinator at the Smithsonian American Art Museum. Before joining the Smithsonian team, she was a Special Events Manager and Coordinator at the National Museum of Women in the Arts in DC. Luthi will be responsible for overseeing all logistical planning, organizing, and executing of festival events.

Hall, also a Greenville native, began working with Artisphere this past January as an intern after graduating from the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts in Arts Management and Dance. Hall’s responsibilities include communications planning, social media strategies, web content creation, media planning and management, and administrative facilitation.

Kerry Murphy, Artisphere Executive Director, states; “With the addition of Elise and Megan to the Artisphere team, operations will be more efficient and the festival will be even more effectual in our community. It is our hope that as the new year moves forward, with a strong communications plan and a programming road map we will attract a wider audience both regionally and nationally.”
The 13th Anniversary Artisphere presented by TD Bank is scheduled for May 12-14, 2017.
