ARTISPHERE REVEALS 2016 COMMEMORATIVE POSTER AND T-SHIRT ARTWORK
Florida Artist and New York Artist Selected for Merchandise
Greenville, SC– April 7 2016– Artisphere presented by TD Bank unveiled the 2016 commemorative poster and t-shirt for Greenville’s signature fine art celebration May 13-15th 2016.
First time Artisphere exhibitor Katherine Mathisen was selected by the festival’s Visual Arts Committee for the image “Abundant” as this year’s commemorative poster. The committee’s selection is based on several criteria: image’s artistry, mass appeal, and its ability to reproduce on a large scale. “It is an honor just to be invited to participate in the festival this year. I am beyond delighted to be selected as the poster artist for Artisphere 2016,” stated Mathisen on the selection.“ Mathisen, from Ocoee, FL, said, “In the arts community Artisphere has a reputation for being a show of the highest quality. I had always heard such impressive comments about Artisphere in Greenville SC. So, I decided I would like to experience the show and Greenville for myself.”
Another first time Artisphere artist, Ellie Ali, of New York, was selected as the merchandise artist. Her image, “Couple,” will adorn the 2016 Artisphere t-shirt and two additional images by Ali will appear on the 2016 Artisphere signature wine labels. Ali said, “This is my first time participating in Artisphere and I was delighted to hear that the committee chose my paintings for the merchandise this year. Who wouldn’t be honored? I look forward to my first time in Greenville and meeting all the people who have participated in the festival in the past.”
The 2016 commemorative posters and merchandise will be available during the festival at the two Artisphere official festival stores.
