The 2024 Artists of the Upstate Juried Exhibition, below, is a local art exhibition presented by Artisphere and supported by a grant from the Metropolitan Arts Council. This exhibit features work by artists living in Upstate South Carolina, and it seeks to recognize the outstanding quality and diversity of work being generated by artists of Upstate South Carolina.
The 17th annual exhibit was juried David Gerhard. David serves as Visual Arts Department Chair, Printmaking, Drawing at the South Carolina Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities. Â
As a maker, artist, designer, and educator, he earned his MFA in Visual Art (printmaking emphasis) from Clemson University and his BAs (with Distinction) in Studio Art and Communications Studies from Sonoma State University. Gerhard has taught in the Art Departments at Clemson University, Furman University, Anderson University, and the Greenville County Museum of Art.Â
