ARTISPHERE REVEALS 2015 COMMEMORATIVE POSTER AND T-SHIRT ARTWORK

Miami Artist and Greenville Artist Selected to be Spotlighted on Merchandise

[Greenville, SC] Artisphere presented by TD Bank unveiled the 2015 commemorative poster and t-shirt images selected for Greenville’s nationally recognized fine art celebration May 8-10th 2015.

First time exhibitor Rey Alfonso’s “Journey in a Red Boat” was unanimously selected by the festival’s Visual Arts Committee for this year’s commemorative poster. The committee considers all exhibiting Artisphere artists and begins to narrow the field based on the image’s artistry, broad appeal and its ability to work in large scale. On being selected as the poster artist Alfonso stated, “I am delighted to be working with Artisphere on this year’s poster and look forward to showing my newest works in Greenville in May.  I’ve heard such positive reviews from our artist friends who have shown in this dynamic arts community.” Alfonso is originally from Matanzas, Cuba but settled in San Francisco where he worked for 15 years in large scale aluminum while developing his current style which utilizes his extensive knowledge of pure pigments and fire in paintings on Baltic birch. His work can be found in collections in more than 40 countries.

Local artist Joseph Bradley’s “Bike and Birds” was selected for the commemorative t-shirt. The 2015 festival will be Bradley’s third appearance in Artisphere. For his exhibitor debut in 2013 he received the Mayor’s Choice Award. “When I got the call that Artisphere had chosen my work for commemoration, I was very excited and honored,” stated Bradley. “I especially love this year’s t-shirt design that I feel really shows Greenville’s appreciation for the outdoors and cycling culture.” Bradley is owner of a gallery & studio in Greenville and exhibits his work in cities across the country including New York City, Denver, Houston, Chicago, and Charleston to name just a few.
